Emergency Needs

Ben

Ben is a college student born and raised in the Samburu of Kenya. He’s an orphan who has had several guardians. Through the help of Bishop Peter Lesuruapus, he was able to start his education at aunt Kenya University in 2017, studying Public Relations and Diplomacy.

Ben had to finance his own education and often missed classes to do manual labor to raise school fees. He has one year left to complete his studies, so this is not a long-term sponsorship. He loves Jesus and thanks God for how far he’s been able to go in his education. With a little help, he could complete his degree. His first semester is $400. Could you help with that cost?

Rose

Rose, 17, is focused on helping her grandmother and fulfilling her dreams. As you can see from the video, she and her grandmother live in very poor conditions.

Rose is in her third year of high school in Kenya but has been sent home with school fees overdue. She owes $300 now and then will need a sponsor for 2022, to allow her to complete high school.

Rose explains in the video that she is at risk for a forced marriage, which she does not want. Instead, she wants to get her education and help her grandmother. Please consider sending any help for Rose.

Esther and Martha

Esther, 13, and Martha, 14, are the daughters of pastors faithfully serving their people. Both sisters have attended school until recently when their parents were unable to pay the school fees. They have been sent home until fees of $150 each ($300 total) have been paid. Both would like to continue their schooling. Esther’s and Martha’s family lives in the Samburu of Kenya.

The school fees are very affordable to us: $300 for the next school year. That breaks down to $25 per month per girl. Please pray for the sisters and consider committing to $25 per month for one sister or $50 per month to keep both in school.

ROSLYN

Roslyn, 17, has faced much trauma in the last year or two. She was enrolled in her third year at girls school in Kenya. Because of abuse by her aunt (Roslyn is an orphan being cared for by this aunt) and lack of parental help, Roslyn fell in with the wrong crowd.

Someone had sponsored her fees at school but Roslyn, along with some other girls, pursued prostitution as a way to earn money for their needs. When she got pregnant, the school did not allow her to continue with classes.

Others advised her to abort her baby, which she refused to do. Instead, she sought out a church where she accepted Jesus as her savior and remains under the church’s care.

She would like to finish her schooling so she can provide for her daughter. Little Nancy was born in August 2021.

If a sponsor steps up to help Roslyn, the church is willing to help care for Nancy while Roslyn is in school.

Roslyn only has 2 years of schooling left and her start-up fees (uniform, books, etc) were paid when she started school. So a sponsor would only need to provide the tuition for school.

Her annual school costs are $450 – which works out to about $40 per month. In addition, we’re praying that someone will help with Nancy’s food needs of about $100 per month.

Please consider Roslyn. Jesus transforms lives and loving sponsors can help her forge a better life for herself and her daughter.

FRANCIS

Francis is 22 years old, attending Eldoret Technical Training Institute to earn a certificate in animal health and production.

Francis lost his mother when he was 10 years old (generally women are in charge of caring for children) and stayed in slums and out in the cold during those years. He was able to get his primary and secondary school by the grace of God and some well-wishers. Food was always difficult.

While in college, he has worked cleaning stores and car garages and motorcycles to raise his school fees.

He is in his fourth year of college and is trusting God for one more year’s support to finish his degree. He needs $750 to finish that schooling.

Diana

Diana, 16, has returned to school for now! She is a good student at a strong Catholic school which produces the best doctors and nurses in Kenya.

Diana is an orphan and has been living with her aunt for a week. The aunt has no money to help her. Diana needs a sponsor to keep her in school. $40/month will allow her to continue her school career.

Schooling gives her vastly better career options.

MARY

Mary is the mother of 6 children, expected to provide for their care. She earns money from neighbors who will pay her to do laundry, carry water, work in the garden, clean house. There is not always work and, on those days, Mary and her children don’t eat.

She is strong and willing to work but needs resources to help her start a small business. If you can help Mary purchase some livestock for her business, that would help her care for her family. $100 would let her buy at least one head of livestock.

ALIMA

Even though Alima is a female in Kenya, an orphan, and only 16 years old, she has big dreams. She is pursuing training to become a CPA. But the money ran out and she was ushered out of her school due to lack of tuition payment.

Alima went to her Muslin community for help but was rebuffed. Now she’s turned to Pastor Peter and New Dawn Ministries, hoping that God will provide help for her as he has provided for other needy ones.

God uses his people to care for the world and he loves Alima. She is seeking Jesus and she is hoping for help.

Her goal is $600 but that can be reached in small bites.  Please pray for her – for her schooling and also for her faith journey, that Jesus will become real to her.

Starving Street Children

These boys are happy because they have today’s food in hand. But food is scarce for them and they are usually hungry. Some starve. Notice the huts in their village. Villagers have few resources to share outside their own families and these poor children need our help. Can you help them? A sponsorship for a starving child is $60-100 per month, although any amount helps. Please pray for them.
